Located in the heart of Atlanta’s Beltline district, advertising and marketing giant WPP’s new campus offers 39,300-square-ft of space for twelve of the agencies under its corporate umbrella. Envisioned as a hub for collaboration and creativity by BDG Architecture + Design, the project needed a lighting solution that could unify the various offices, guide movement through the campus, and inspire the creative minds working in the space. Our Rim Collection, available in a wide variety of geometric shapes and sizes, fit the brief.
With a design plan focused on connecting individuals, teams and the surrounding city, BDG’s vision drew on the character of Atlanta, and the warm sentiments of the South: peach and earth tones, red accents and natural wood. As a natural complement to this palette, light serves as a key storytelling element. Rim’s customizable luminaires provided a visual language to illuminate the space and serve as a natural complement to this palette.
The WPP Campus offers a great example of how our collaborative approach with designers and architects can elevate and enhance a space. For BGM, the flexibility of our RIM collection proved to be a design medium in its own right, capable of enhancing the feel of the campus for the people who work there.
Rather than simple illumination, RIM creates a cohesive lighting scheme that blends harmoniously with the architecture and function of the space. It offers spatial definition, rhythm, and a brightened sense of place, and shows that when lighting is designed with intention, it can become a part of the architecture itself, helping illuminate ideas that take shape within its glow.
